Linda
Linda Theus-Lee, an enchanting songstress of the heart, whose musical journey has spanned her entire life, has been immersed in music since her early years. Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, and now residing in Denver, CO, she was born into a family with deep musical roots. Her formative years were spent studying dance and theater, while observing her older siblings' innovative musical creations and artistic expressions. Although dancing was Linda's initial love, her affection for singing grew over time. She explains, "From a very young age, I have always had the yearning to sing, write poetry, and create music."
Throughout her career, Linda has collaborated with numerous talented local artists and has embarked on musical journeys around the globe. Destiny paved her path to perform alongside Louis Burke's Big Band (Trumpeter) in Los Angeles, California, as part of (Destination/Disco-Sensation). She has also shared the stage with Lionel Hampton and his Orchestra, Chester Whitmore's Black Ballet Jazz, the Platters, and served as the opening act for Baby Face Edmonds. Linda has had the honor of working with renowned ensembles such as John Akal's 21 Piece Ultra-phonic Jazz Orchestra, Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, and many others.
Being a poet at heart, Linda ventured into creating her own one-woman show titled "Show Case a Singer's Story," later renamed "Rea's Story" in 2003. This captivating performance has graced prestigious venues such as the Canon Theatre and the Steinway Recital Hall in Los Angeles, California. Additionally, Linda has showcased her talents in Seoul, Korea, where she performed the show for a continuous run of 14 days.
Since her arrival in Denver, Linda has seized opportunities to showcase her artistry. She has performed the National Anthem at the Pepsi Center for the Denver Nuggets, and staged her one-woman show "Rea's Story" at the Crossroads Theatre and the Shadow Theatre (now Vintage Theatre). Linda has also entertained audiences at various clubs, wedding receptions, fundraisers, and private events.
Linda's talent extends across diverse vocal genres, and she is equally skilled as a percussionist. Her songwriting prowess flourishes on the guitar and piano. She cherishes her family, friends, gardening, and the broader community at large.
Aside from her musical accomplishments, Linda holds a Master of Social Science degree and is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at the University of Colorado Denver, School of Education and Human Development. With deep gratitude, Linda acknowledges that her passion, gifts, and journey are all manifestations of God's grace, which she embraces, celebrates, and remains humbled by. Linda says " if it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you"

Linda Theus-Lee, earned her Master of Social Sciences degree from the University of Colorado Denver, and is now a Doctorate student at the School of Education at CU Denver. She works as a Program Assistant and Event coordinator for CU Denver Business School. She is a versatile professional, a performing artist, motivational speaker, teacher of the importance of self, entrepreneur and the importance of education. To name a few of Linda’s volunteerism: developing and implementing a reading program at the Ford-Warren Library, mentoring girls throughout the community, speaking to student clubs, Air Reserve Personnel Reserve, creating her annual fundraiser: Toys, Coats, books and smart games for communityand single families.

Wins Thomas Jefferson Award
DENVER— Linda Theus-Lee, was honored as a recipient of the prestigious Thomas Jefferson award for her demonstration of a strong commitment to the advancement of higher education, a deeply seated sense of individual civic responsibility and a profound commitment to the welfare and rights of the individual.
Award winners are those who embody and advance the ideals of Jefferson, the third U.S. president and a Founding Father whose influence shaped American arts, sciences, education and public affairs. The Jefferson Award recognizes CU faculty, staff and students who demonstrate excellence in the performance of regular academic responsibilities while contributing outstanding service to the broader community.
The Thomas Jefferson Award was established at the University of Virginia in 1951 by the Robert Earll McConnell Foundation to honor teaching faculty who exemplified the humanistic ideals associated with Jefferson. By 1962, six other institutions – including CU – had established a Jefferson Award. In 1980, the university added a student category; in 1988, the staff category was approved. Funding for the awards is derived from earnings on an endowment provided by the McConnell Foundation and from a bequest by Harrison Blair, a CU alumnus.
